The Story
YEAR ONE: Meanwhile, Alex makes another attempt to bring the Dumari under his control. Lies are told, honor is compromised, loyalties are tested — secret identities are exposed. Many questions are answered, yet deeper mysteries remain. When danger once again threatens, will Moira make the right choice — or will she stay true to form and allow her temper to get the better of her?
Fifteen-year-old Moira Fitzgerald is a punk - rebellious, obnoxious, rude. She also happens to be a witch - but doesn't want to be. So why do evil magicals think she may be the new Dumari? And why have she and her twin cousins, Braidy and Brody Attison, been kidnapped? What is the Dumari, anyway?
Thanks to some quick thinking on feisty Moira's part - and a fair smattering of luck - the three teens manage to elude their captors. They find themselves cast adrift in New York City, far from their homes near Boston, with few resources and little money. Forced to work together, in spite of their differences, they wend their way north through the city, hoping that their families will find them before their enemies do.
YEAR TWO:
After the previous summer, Moira and the twins want nothing more than to return to their normal lives. Brody seems determined to date every girl he sees, while Moira faces several new challenges; a move to Cape Cod, a new school, an overeager first date, an identity crisis — does she want to be a witch, or doesn’t she? Only her journal knows for sure. But it is Braidy who must struggle with the most serious dilemma, as her obsession with the mysterious Jonathan becomes increasingly intense.
The Legende...
Be it know that at divers times throughout history, certain Children of Moste Magical Propensity shall be borne. These Children shall hold the fate of the World in their hands - for Good or Ill. Named "Beloved Morning" ("Dewah Meri") by the Priestess of Isis, they shall be known by the Mark of the True Magicals - the Wellspring of Life. Only One may exist per Age, but that One shall have Powers beyond all knowledge.
Beware, however, the Path the Dumari may travel. Guided toward Good and Right Care for others, their Lives shall be longe and fruitfull, and their Names shall be Blessed. Let them once begin, however, along the Path of Evil and Greed, and their Existence shall be a Bane upon all whom they Encounter - and their Days shall be mercifully shortened in return.
